PK&RSO from Detroit specializes in swing
from the mid-1930s through late 1940s.
Its sound is influenced by Count Basie and Harry James
and has covered the top swing venues throughout the Midwest.
The band has been nominated for Detroit Music Awards including
Best Big Band/Swing artists,
Outstanding Jazz Vocalist
Outstanding Jazz Instrumentalists.

Dancers of all skill levels are welcome.
Many come just to enjoy the sights and sounds.
Dress is semi-formal or vintage attire.
General admission begins at 6:30 p.m. with a dance lesson from 7 to 8 p.m.
The band will hit the stage at 8:15 p.m. and perform until midnight.
There is a cash bar available throughout the evening.
Dress is snappy casual to semi-formal; or vintage attire.

Tickets are $25 per person in advance or at the door. Add $5 for the optional lesson.
Tables of eight may be reserved in advance at no additional charge.
Parking (usually $10/vehicle) is available in:

  • The Masonic Temple’s north parking lot
  • On the west side of 2nd Avenue
  • On the southwest corner of Temple and Cass
  • On the southeast corner of Temple and Cass

Thirty-year veteran percussionist  Sammy DeLeon  and his crew love sharing the history and characteristics of their music with audiences.
Latin jazz, salsa and merengue – the latter originating in the Dominican Republic – comprise a highly danceable set led by DeLeon, once described by Latin music legend Tito Puente as “the hottest and most innovative timbalero.”

Ticket holders may enjoy a
6:30 p.m. salsa dance workshop
led by instructor
Mambo Marci.
